Two more days until the big event! I am so excited, but so nervous at the same time. I can't even begin to tell everyone all the feelings that are coursing through me right now. We finally met the judges the other evening, and even though I was very nervous over it, I attempted to stay calm and get through it, and I did! I learned so much from all of them, and now that I've finally met them it makes the pressure to do better on Dec 7th even greater. I want everyone to see how hard we've all worked to make the evening a success!
While we're all worrying and practicing for the big day, I won't forget to take some time to relax and rest, with Teagan of course.
Show day is slowly creeping up on us and we all have been so busy preparing for it all. Meeting the judges, fittings, rehearsals...everything has to be perfect so we have a successful and entertaining evening. But because of all that I have noticed that I've been forgetting about the people around me. My grandma has been in Richmond for the past 2 months and I realized that I rarely see her. She calls me everyday at least 3 times to ask me when I'll be done training so I can over to her place to have soup. She always tells me there is dinner ready whenever I need it, and I always tell her I'll go over, but am so tired by the time I'm done training that I never do.
Well not anymore! I finally got some time to spend with her yesterday. Even though we only went to Lansdowne to do some grocery shopping it was still nice to see her. Next time she has dinner made I'll be sure to go over!
My grandma was so happy to see me on the MCVP poster!
After all of our performances were finished, we presented the seniors with a flower arrangement that we all did. The girls made their own flowers and I helped to arrange them. All the flowers were unique and beautiful, just like them!
Erica and I performed ä½ å›žä¾†å§ and I was so excited when she agreed because this song brings back many special memories of my sister and I. We used to love karaoke, and because all the karaoke songs we had in the house were really old they were the only songs we knew how to sing. ä½ å›žä¾†å§ was one of them. Every time we sang it, we would laugh at the cheesy music video that the song had.
When I think of my sister I always think of how much of a neat-freak she is. The bathroom counter had to be wiped off if there was water on it, the chairs had to pushed back in, and the dishes would have to be done the same night! But now after having baby around, the house is full of clutter, there are clothes and boxes everywhere, and dishes would be left in the sink for days! She's changed so much, and I realized how much effort she really puts in to taking care of us siblings. Even though we have a big age difference, I feel like we are so close. She is always honest with me, I can talk to her about anything, and I know she'll always have a shoulder for me if I need to cry. Oh, did I mention that the big baby in the house is me!? :P
It snowed the other day, and thanks to my dad I have my snow tires from Prince George in the back of my trunk! I didn't even know why my dad suggested I needed the snow tires since it never really snows in Vancouver. But after he told me his reasons I realized how much he thinks of me. Dads are always left out of the picture, they are always there in the background supporting us but they never really get the credit they deserve. Every year we take family trips and he's always the one driving through the night while the rest of us sleep. Or how he always considers taking our two dogs with us on road trips because hey, they're part of the family too! And dad always has the fun ideas and is willing to try new things!
Even without tables or chairs, he still finds a spot to read the paper with my brother.
As I got older my dad and I obviously got into arguments, but I don't think our relationship has ever been better. We can argue, laugh, joke, make fun of each other and I know he will always be there for me when I need it. The relationship we have with our fathers is something unique and special. We always take them for granted and never really realize what they have done for us. So I wanted to dedicate today's post to him because he's my one and only 爸爸! I can't wait to see him when he comes down for the pageant!
Today's post is all about reunions! My best friend took the time out of her busy schedule to come and see me at the Canadian Cancer Society Press Conference on Nov. 12. I was so excited to see her I almost cried!
My sister, niece and bestie Rebecca!
Times like that bring back so many memories of when we were younger and all the different people we have met before. When was the last time you got together with an old friend?
When old friends reunite....
And new friends are made...Everyone has a good time! Thinking about friends made me think about nursing and how much I miss it, I thought I'd bring out some old pictures of me when I was working. I learned so much and met so many great people that I will never forget!
Have a great day everybody! Call up your friends and have a good time!
As everyone can see from the subject heading my need for junk food has become progressively worse. It's becoming a condition I can't control anymore! *wink wink* When my sister and I went out yesterday we saw some ice cream bars and chicken drumsticks and I just couldn't help myself! My mouth began to water, my eyes got bigger and I just dug right in!
But on a more serious note, today is Nov.11 2011 Remembrance Day. Let's all take the time to remember why we're here and all those that fought for us. "Freedom is never free.." - Unknown Author
It's getting colder, and since all of my clothes are back home I have no winter clothes to keep me warm! I only have about a week's worth of things so brrrrr.... but that's okay, it's just an excuse to add some things to my wardrobe. Hehe :) Those of you in the Vancouver area, make sure you keep warm!
On a side note, the Press Conference is coming up pretty soon here and I'm working really hard on my Hip Hop routine so it's stage-ready. But let me tell you hip hop is not as easy as it looks, for someone who has little to no dance experience like myself it's definitely a challenge. Like my brother always tells me though åŠ æ²¹ åŠ æ²¹! Add gas, add gas! Whenever I'm feeling a little down or just not quite right...Party Rock Anthem always gets me in the mood!
I had a taste of how hard actors and actresses have to work!
Little Dylan and I.
Picture of me as an RN, trust me I don't look this good when I'm actually on the ward. *wink wink*
Halloween's coming up pretty soon here, but I don't remember the last time I actually dressed up as something to out and have some fun. But that's alright, because rather than dressing myself up, I can dress up someone else!
My little neice in a strawberry outfit! She rocked it!
Another Promotional Shoot today, this time we were dressed in very bright colours and placed in front of a black backdrop. I can't wait to see all the colours pop!
Imagine this against a black background, it's going to be so colourful!
Vicky, you're so good at taking candid shots, here's one of you!
We were all smiling so hard the past couple of days, my cheeks were twitching by the time I was done. I can't speak for the other girls, but I bet they'll all agree with me that even though our faces hurt I'm sure the outcome will look beautiful. P.S. Have I mentioned how much I love my hair?!?
First Promotional Shoot EVER today! Wow, what an amazing experience...what little girl doesn't dream of one day standing in front of a camera looking pretty, and I got to do that! It wasn't easy that's for sure, having all those eyes watching you, and having to redo the same motion 20 times...but it was absolutely worth it. I cannot wait to see everyone's beautiful faces on the big screen!
Having my makeup and hair done by professionals is awesome. I had beautiful long eyelashes and it made my eyes look so glamourous! Many of the girls told me I looked like a doll, and it doesn't help that all my friends call me an Anime character. Well, looks like there's no stopping it now....Check out my long lashes!
I've never had fake eyelashes before...so you can all see how excited I am.
